Can DCI respond to an RFP?

Yes. DCI has experience working with organizations that use formal RFP and contract processes, including government and institutional clients. Contact us to discuss your project and requirements.

Does DCI provide specialized cleaning beyond regular janitorial services?

Yes. In addition to recurring janitorial services, DCI provides floor stripping and waxing, post-construction cleaning, commercial carpet cleaning, and commercial window cleaning. This allows clients to work with one cleaning partner for a broader range of facility needs.

How does DCI determine the cost of cleaning?

Pricing depends on factors such as square footage, facility type, frequency of service, floor conditions, and the specific services required. For specialized services, we assess the condition of the space before recommending the appropriate approach.

How does switching cleaning companies work?

Switching cleaning providers doesn't have to be a headache. DCI starts with a site assessment, develops a cleaning plan around your facility, and works with you to make the transition as seamless as possible. Our goal is to take the anxiety out of changing providers.

How do I get a quote for commercial cleaning?

Start by contacting DCI to discuss your facility and cleaning needs. We’ll arrange a site visit, assess the space, determine the appropriate services and schedule, and build a customized quote for your facility.

How long do DCI's cleaning contracts typically last?

Contract length depends on the client and scope of service. DCI commonly works within multi-year service agreements, with regular reviews to make sure the cleaning plan continues to meet the facility's needs.

Is DCI bonded and insured?

Yes. DCI is a bonded and insured commercial cleaning company with established safety and quality-control processes.

Is DCI safety certified?

Yes. DCI maintains HSE safety certifications and formal safety processes, which are particularly important when working with government, construction, and other organizations with strict safety requirements. We also conduct annual safety inspections across our worksites and crews, helping ensure safety remains an active part of our operations rather than an afterthought.

In 2023, DCI was proud to receive the WCB Safety Certification Leadership in Safety Award. The same high standards and commitment to safety that earned us that recognition remain firmly in place today.

What geographic areas does DCI Cleaning service?

DCI provides commercial cleaning services throughout Cape Breton, Sydney, Antigonish, New Glasgow, and communities across Mainland Nova Scotia. Our service area is focused on commercial and institutional facilities throughout these regions.

What types and sizes of commercial facilities can DCI service?

We work with a wide range of commercial and institutional facilities, including retail stores, offices, healthcare facilities, government buildings, airports, construction projects and large commercial spaces.

With over 150+ staff, across our client portfolio, DCI currently services more than 1.5million square feet of commercial space. Our size allows us to handle significant square footage while maintaining local oversight and accountability.

Who do I contact if there is an issue with our cleaning service?

You’ll always have a local point of contact at DCI who works directly with our supervisors and cleaning teams. If an issue comes up, we can address it quickly — without sending you through layers of corporate support or making you chase down the right person.

Can DCI clean a large construction project?

Yes. DCI has the staff, equipment, and experience to handle large commercial construction and renovation projects, including detailed interior and window cleaning.

Can DCI increase or change our cleaning services if our needs change?

Yes. Your facility's needs can change over time. DCI can review your existing service plan and adjust the frequency, scope, or specialized services when appropriate.

Can DCI provide cleaning every day?

Yes. DCI provides daily recurring janitorial services for commercial facilities that require consistent cleaning and maintenance. We build a schedule around your facility and its operating needs.

Can DCI provide references for similar facilities?

Yes. DCI works with commercial, institutional, government, healthcare, retail and construction clients throughout Nova Scotia. References for comparable facilities can be provided upon request.

Can DCI remove heavy dirt and buildup from high-traffic carpets?

Yes. Commercial carpets can accumulate significant soil in high-traffic areas. DCI uses professional cleaning methods to remove built-up soil, restore the appearance of carpet, and help extend its useful life.

Can DCI remove years of buildup from commercial floors?

Yes. Some commercial floors can have multiple layers of accumulated finish that require specialized stripping before a new finish can be applied. DCI assesses the condition of the floor and determines the appropriate process rather than taking a cookie-cutter approach.

Can I schedule janitorial cleaning weekly instead?

Yes. Cleaning schedules can be customized to your facility. Depending on your needs, DCI can provide daily, weekly, or other scheduled recurring services

Can window cleaning be included with other cleaning services?

Yes. Commercial window cleaning can be scheduled alongside your other cleaning requirements, or as a separate service, depending on the needs of your facility.

How does DCI make sure our facility is being cleaned properly?

Cleaning doesn't stop when our staff leave your facility. DCI supervisors make regular visits and inspections to identify deficiencies, check site conditions, review cleaning supplies and equipment, and address issues before they become problems for you.

How often should commercial floors be stripped and waxed?

There isn't a single schedule that works for every facility. Traffic, flooring type, weather, and existing finish all affect how often floors need to be refinished. DCI can assess your floors and recommend an appropriate maintenance schedule.

When should post-construction cleaning happen?

Post-construction cleaning is typically scheduled once the major construction work is complete and the space is ready for final cleaning. DCI can work with your project team to determine the appropriate timing based on the project schedule.

Will I have the same cleaners coming to my facility?

DCI places a strong emphasis on employee retention and consistency. We know that familiar, reliable staff are an important part of a good commercial cleaning relationship, so we work to provide consistency in the people servicing your facility.
